The PS2 had some pretty classic games released for it in its lifespan - Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, GTA: San Andreas, the original Mercenaries, Final Fantasy X, but which one makes you want to dig out the console just to play it again?
For me, it's Fight Night Round 3 - it was pretty much the first decent boxing game for any platform, and probably still just shades FN:R4 even now - the battles you could have with friends on that game were amazing - last-gasp knockouts, 9 rounds of beating your buddy to a pulp until he can't stand up any more, even those battles that could basically take place in a phonebooth - you both just stand there and throw punches until one of you falls down. Just a brilliant, brilliant game.
Also worth a mention is Burnout 3: Takedown. Still to this day one of the finest Arcade Racers I've ever played - it had everything - weaving in and out of traffic at hundreds of miles per hour, just missing trucks by inches, then at the last second, slamming into the side of your friend's car and sending him head-first into a concrete wall. THAT's what friendship is all about.

Hmm, that's a tough one. I personally haven't pulled out my PS2 for quite a while since switching to mainly PC gaming. However, if I were to bring it out, it'd be for either the Grand Theft Auto series or 007: Agent Under Fire.
While I never got much use out of it, the Eye Toy was also quite interesting, and was perhaps the first step towards all of the motion-controlled gaming we have today. I don't remember many games for it back then, but it's astounding just how many there are for the newer systems now.

Vice City and San Andreas were in fact awesome. I think my favorite game would be the Kingdom Hearts games for the PS2. Sadly, they'll never make it over to the xBox

If you like Disney then you will love that game. Your looking for King Mickey and you have to go through several Disney Worlds, it's really fun, I can't wait for Kingdom Hearts 3 on PS3!!!

Mine would definitely have to be Dragon Quest 8. Despite the usual JRPG grinding that you have to do, the story and gameplay was amazing and I would recommend it 100% to anybody who even remotely likes RPGs and has a PS2

My favorites are of course, the GTA series... but I also enjoy playing God of War 1 and 2. They are both immensely enjoyable.

My favourite games for the PS2 were the GTA series and The Warriors. I really want an upgraded release of The Warriors for Xbox 360, I would definately buy it!

I bought a PS2 slim few months ago just for fun.
I enjoy to play Ace Combat 2 and the trilogy Crash Bandicoot.
In my opinion, Gran Turismo 3 is definitely the best games of the playstation 2. When it was released it was a revolution. Driving beautiful cars in a great simulation was just amazing for all players. It's one of my best remember as gamer.
I think GTA series and Final Fantasy series are good too but Gran Turismo 3 is for me the best game released on the playstation 2.

Best Ps2 game, hard choice. I would have to say the matrix games just cause I loved the movie with all the slow-motion dodging bullets and me playing as Neo was an awsome experience. The problem was though I played the game way too much and the story seemed so short :(
i thought all the Gta games that came out on the Ps2 were amazing just so many things you could do in this virtual world and not get arrested ;) (Instead in-game you got shot)
