Greetings Adventurers,

As you may have noticed, it's been a bit quiet at GameOn365 lately. We've been hard at work on a new Minecraft server network, PickAxis, which currently offers Survival, Creative, SkyBlock, and SkyWars, with more to come in the near future. The GameOn365 Minecraft server will remain available, though PickAxis is a new (and more active) community that you can call your home away from home.

You can connect to PickAxis using play.pickaxis.com

I hope to see you in-game both at GameOn365 and PickAxis!

Today marks the 8th Anniversary of GameOn365.net! Eight years, that's quite some time now!

We'll be hosting events and giveaways on the GameOn365 Minecraft server tonight around 9PM Eastern. We've also got plans to unveil a new feature on the Minecraft server within the coming days, so keep an eye out for our next announcement!

VIP Price Adjustment for New Subscribers After November 4th

Beginning next month, VIP subscription prices will change for all new subscribers (anyone who has not purchased a VIP subscription in the past). We'll be changing the price to $5 per month (or $27 for 6 months) to reflect the new features that have been added recently, as well as more new and exciting features that will be added through the end of this year. This change will take place on Tuesday November 5th, 2013.

Current VIP subscribers (and anyone who purchases a new VIP subscription before the change) will be unaffected, and will continue with their current pricing.

GameOn365's 7th Anniversary is almost upon us. On June 26th, GameOn365.net will have existed for 7 years.

Celebrations will take place on the GameOn365 Minecraft server for the entire week of June 23rd through June 30th. We'll be hosting in-game events, announcing some new features, and even adding some of those new features in over the week. Additionally, Minecraft 1.6 is scheduled to be released during the week, and we plan on updating to it as soon as we possibly can.

We'd like to thank every single one of you that's helped make this possible, and we look forward to many more great years!

Additionally, the /back command will become a VIP feature on July 1st. With our recent changes to inventory saving and the various methods of transportation we've added and improved over the past few months (such as portals), we feel that the /back command is not as useful as it previously was.

GameOn365's TeamSpeak server is open for all members of our community to use as an alternative to other voice chat programs such as Skype. TeamSpeak lets you and your friends chat together without having to set up a call every day and lets you use other features such as push-to-talk to cut down on background noise.

You can download TeamSpeak by clicking the big green button on the TeamSpeak website. After you download and install TeamSpeak, click here to connect to our server.

Suddenly, Zombies

You are sitting home at your computer, reading this post, when suddenly you are informed by your friend that zombies are, indeed, on the loose. You look to the nearest window, or go down/up a floor to find a window at ground level. Taken by surprise, the undead are already after your scent, and a rotting corpse breaks through the window you glance out of and comes after you. You flee to your computer room and lock the door behind you, the undead hot on your trail, and soon claws begin to scrape on your door, and it becomes clear that you won't stay safe forever.

Look around the room. One item is your weapon.

The Infinite Realm of MMO's

So I'm sure I'm not the only one around here who has played many a MMO in the past. From the full-on adventure style MMORPGs to unique side-scroller fast-paced battles with a multiplayer aspect, there are certainly many games out there to suit the needs of the players. I'll be posting some little critiques here for those that I have encountered so far, and I'm totally up for taking suggestions for more to play in the future.

Grand Fantasia

This endearing anime-inspired free MMORPG from Korea (I believe) has been an outlet for my spare time more times than I can count. It's customization features in your character are basic at best in the beginning, and your uniqueness will eventually come from your gear. There are only four or so basic classes to choose at the beginning- warrior, mage, priest, ranger- and the more you level up, you can ascend the ranks into more specialized classes. For instance, the warrior can become a berserker, a class more specialized towards direct damage, or a paladin, a healer-warrior mix that can cast heals and buffs onto party members as well as yourself. Additional customization, mounts and things like that are able to be bought from an in-game store, but it is all purely optional, and gives no real advantage over others in combat, so it is far from pay-to-win. The world is large and for the most part pleasing to the eye, from the silly creatures you fight in early levels to the more threatening creatures you combat in later levels. If you're a guy, I would suggest playing this with your girlfriend or something to make use of a kind of "love connection" available to bind with other players in the game, to get buffs and increased experience just for playing with a friend (or something more than a friend. After all, those who slay together stay together!)*

Aion

I have a friend who played Aion back when you still had to pay for it. These days, it is free to play to the public, and I believe it has reverted to selling in-game items for real money, much like Grand Fantasia. I'm not sure if this is true, or if it is what exactly it entails, since I never really looked into it that much. The game begins with you choosing one of two warring races as your main characters, on the lighter and darker sides of the same realm. Think of it like choosing Alliance or Horde in World of Warcraft. Within those races you get to choose the same four basic classes, and you specialize it much like you do in the previously mentioned Grand Fantasia, or GF. However, one of the biggest differences between these two games are the graphics. While Grand Fantasia is a bit more angled towards females, with the anime characters and silly enemies in an overall cartoony world, Aion is set in a much more realistic setting with darker atmospheres. However, the art in general of the world is beautiful and well crafted. I feel in the little amount of time I played through this game, I only scraped the surface of a massive world with amazing lore and its share of humorous parts, while Grand Fantasia seemed to be stuck in the silly rut. I will likely give this game another try very soon.

Boosting Activity: Forum Maintenance

The forums have been sitting rather unused for the most part as of late, and I would like to propose a little addition- and perhaps some cleanup- to inspire some more activity in the forums.

The format for the entire board is very well done, however I fear that there is just so much space to post that many don't know where to start. Whether forums are removed or not due to inactivity is up to the administrators, but I would like to propose some suggestions to perhaps make things a little more user-friendly to the everyday poster.

While the GameOn365 forum group itself is a great header, I feel that the groups that would gather the most discussion are much farther down, so much so that there are many who don't even see them because they're so far down on the page. I suggest moving Gaming, Technology and Computers, and Off-Topic above some of the more unused groups such as GameOn365 Services and Game Development and Private Servers. Doing this will make the more general discussion groups easier to access and the more specific groups farther down for those who wish to make use of them.

Also, I noticed there are some areas in which no discussion ever arose at all, such as Crysis and Halo in the Gaming group. Moreso, in this group in general, I suggest adding a League of Legends subforum. I know there are many on this forum who currently play League (yes, even Nick) and when those incredible comebacks or landslide games happen that make us all warm and fuzzy inside, what better to do than show it off to everyone else? It could also have a section where people give their critiques and opinions about champions and playstyles, and in general help each other out to become better summoners.

Just some thoughts.

From starting out as Top Retros' official hotel and later merging with Night Life Hotel to become GameOn365's official hotel, Hotel Royale has been through quite a lot over the years. However, we're proud to announce that Hotel Royale is back and better than ever.

We've been working on Hotel Royale v9.2 since the beginning of this year, so we've put a lot of time in to ensure that your time spent in the hotel and on the site is enjoyable and exceeds that of any other.

Starting today, you can once again enter the hotel and begin building awesome rooms or join us for staff-hosted events.

Quite a variety of furniture is available at this time, but we'll continue working to bring more to the hotel over the next few months. If there's any specific furniture or features you'd like us to add, please post in the feedback forum and we'll definitely consider it.

If you find any bugs, please report them in the tracker and we'll get to work fixing them right away.

Hey guys, many of you may not know me, but I am Michael, I was one of the event Staff members on Gameon365 when Nick was just first releasing his hotel. Lately i've gone inactive and pretty much forgot about the community.

But recently I was checking my email and saw one from Gameon365 so I opened it, and saw v9.2 was up, so I'm deciding to come back to the community as either a player, or as a Events Manager.

So I'll hopefully see you guys in the hotel sometime :)
